Today there is evidence of a worldwide growing interest in preserving various strains of these hardy, native cattle. Cattle associations in the United States, Spain, South America and Florida are making efforts to recognize their attributes, though few actually support registries. The North American Corriente Association ,(N.A.C.A). now maintains a complete registry of bulls and cows. In fact, Corriente breeders show their registered cattle in confirmation classes and performance classes all over the country.
